Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes! I have a century-old LC Smith typerwiter from my great-grandmother I still use.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It's a civic duty that must be handled with care at all times.

After a few beers.

Why did you become a journalist?

I wanted to be a writer. I chose journalism as a way to write every day and tell stories all day long. Turns out, I have ink in my veins.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At a town coffee shop, eavesdropping on the old folks.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That so-called "deficiency reporting" is a bad thing. If a government entity, or business, is failing people, it's our job to let them know.
