Why I Don’t Think Republicans Are Going to Lose the Senate
Commentary CNN’s data analyst Harry Enten said something interesting recently. He said Republicans have a stubborn habit of outperforming their September polling in the states that decide control of the Senate. He is right, and reiterated a point I have been making for some time that leads me to believe all might not be lost for the GOP in the Senate. In the major 2024 races, Republicans outran their September polls by 9 points in Iowa, by 6 in Ohio, and by 5 in Michigan.
The New Mind Control. "Subliminal Stimulation", Controlling People without Their Knowledge - Global Research
[This incisive article by Robert Epstein was first published by Global Research on March 3, 2016.] Over the past century, more than a few great writers have expressed concern about humanity’s future. In The Iron Heel(1908), the American writer Jack London pictured a world in which a handful of wealthy corporate titans – the ‘oligarchs’ – kept the masses at bay with a brutal combination of rewards and punishments.
The Betrayal of Trust: Why Gmail is Not a Public Service
The Betrayal of Trust: Why Gmail is Not a Public Service Robert Epstein, Ph.D. We trust our email providers to be neutral carriers of our private thoughts, much like a postal service. Google has traded that trust for a surveillance model that scans, stores, analyzes, and manipulates. In an age of invisible algorithms, how do we rebuild a digital world where «free» doesn’t mean «surrendered»?

ROBERT EPSTEIN: How Google Castrated The DOJ
In a landmark case – the USA vs. Google LLC – a ruling in federal court in August, 2024, declared Google to be a monopoly. True, no one has paid much attention to this case, but it was the most aggressive attempt ever by our federal government to stop Google from dominating the lives of billions of people worldwide – from rigging elections, indoctrinating children, censoring online content, manipulating people’s opinions and destroying its potential competitors.

Full article: Oral decitabine and cedazuridine for the treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes: an integrated review of clinical, economic and patient-centered evidence
ABSTRACT Introduction Myelodysplastic syndromes/neoplasms (MDS) are a heterogenous group of myeloid cancers that impose a substantial negative impact on patient health-related quality of life. As MDS predominately affects older individuals, who are especially susceptible to the debilitating nature of the disease and its burdensome symptoms, treatment decisions should consider therapeutic value from multiple perspectives to balance clinical efficacy with patient-centered outcomes.

Sjogren's Syndrome: What Is It?
Sjogren's syndrome (pronounced SHOW-grins; also spelled Sjögren's) is an autoimmune disease that attacks and destroys glands responsible for keeping the eyes, mouth and other parts of the body moist and lubricated. For this reason, dry eyes are a common symptom of Sjogren's syndrome. Men and women of any age or race can develop Sjogren's syndrome, but it is most prevalent among Caucasian women, with onset usually beginning between ages 40 and 60.

3.1.3 Procedure. Using a pre-post experimental design developed by Epstein and his associates for quantifying bias in online manipulations [5–7], participants were randomly assigned (without their knowledge) to four different groups as they enrolled in the study on December 8th, 2021, December 14, 2021, or January 3, 2022. The combination of random assignment and cleaning left us with slightly uneven ns in each group (Table 4).
A rank ordering and analysis of four cognitive-behavioral stress-management competencies suggests that proactive stress management is especially valuable | Scientific Reports

Are Punitive Damages in Med Mal Cases the Lost City of Gold?
The Punitive Damages Act (Act) allows plaintiffs to potentially recover damages beyond those needed to make a plaintiff whole. Case law on the Act frequently includes the cautionary statement that no degree of negligence is enough for a plaintiff to recover punitive damages. In the quest to recover more for their clients, plaintiffs’ attorneys frequently plead punitive damages as part of their complaints. Ultimately, punitive damages remain elusive for plaintiffs in medical malpractice cases.

From Clouded Titles to Clear Solutions: Defending Against Construction Liens
Construction liens have serious consequences for property owners; they result in a cloud on the title to the property, impede financing, disrupt the progress of a project, and lead to additional costs. How can these consequences be mitigated? A construction lien is a mechanism by which a contractor or subcontractor that has performed work or supplied materials to a construction project, but has not been paid, may impose a security interest against the property.
Appellate Division Rejects Objectors’ Attempt To Challenge Development Approvals
When it comes to challenges of municipal actions by way of actions in lieu of prerogative writs, there has long been tension between two firmly established judicial principles: (1) the important policy of repose for municipal actions; and (2) the judicial preference to determine actions on their merits.
New Jersey's Prompt Payment Act: Construction Contract Considerations for Developers and Owners Original
New Jersey’s Prompt Payment Act, N.J.S.A. 2A:30A-1 and 2 (Act), gives important rights to contractors and other parties who provide services or materials to construction projects in their quest for prompt payment. The Act also places heavy burdens on project developers and owners, requiring them to take certain actions by strict deadlines at the risk of waiving their right to dispute amounts claimed to be owed for construction work.

Participants were first asked, “Do you have strong beliefs about artificial intelligence?” and only people who clicked “No” were allowed to continue. Then participants were given basic instructions and asked for their informed consent (S5 Text). As required by the sponsoring institution’s IRB, participants were not asked for identifying information such as name, email address, or telephone number.

MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR THESE COMMERCIAL LEASE CONCESSIONS
NYC TENANTS CAN ASK FOR MORE PROTECTIONS By: Robert C. Epstein, Esq. In the current “soft” leasing market, tenants can expect to obtain more lease concessions than was typical prior to the pandemic. Many of these items are important enough that they should be addressed by the tenant at the outset, in the lease proposal -- the so-called “term sheet”-- instead of waiting to negotiate them upon receipt of a draft lease.
What would happen if twitter sent consequential messages to only a strategically important subset of users? A quantification of the Targeted Messaging Effect (TME) (pdf) | Paperity
PLOS ONE, Jul 2023 The internet has made possible a number of powerful new forms of influence, some of which are invisible to users and leave no paper trails, which makes them especially problematic. 2.1.3 Procedure. Each session began with two screening questions. Participants could continue only if they said they were eligible to vote in the US and said no to the question, “Do you know a lot about politics in Australia?” They were then given basic instructions about the experiment, given information about how they could contact the experimenters with any questions or concerns they might have, and asked, in accordance with HHS rules, for their consent to participate.
‘The Perfect Crime’: Tech Companies Are Manipulating Our Elections and Indoctrinating Our Children - How We Can Stop Them
by Robert Epstein, The Gatestone Institute: Big Tech companies are deliberately manipulating the outcomes of our elections and the thinking and beliefs of our children. And they are having an enormous impact. Consider this: The GOP currently has a slim 10-seat majority in the House of Representatives. Without Google’s interference in 2022, it would likely now have a majority of between 27 and 59 seats.

Election Integrity's Biggest Threat: Big Tech
If I could show you some of the data that we collected, you would be astounded. There is a lot more that we can find. The bottom line on this is going to be that the types of monitoring systems that we have been developing since 2016, I am pretty sure at this point that they need to be permanent, large scale, and operating in all 50 states to protect our free-and-fair elections from interference by tech companies, which can flip elections any and all ways they please without anyone knowing.
Child Support and Post-Secondary Education
Courts in New Jersey have long held that a college education is necessary for a child, and that financially capable parents should fulfill this need by contributing to the cost of a wide range of college-related expenses including, but not limited to: tuition, room and board, books, and mandatory fees. As a result, and in a manner akin to child support, parents cannot bargain away the obligation to provide for a child’s college education during divorce proceedings.

Let’s start with my 95-year-old mom. Her memory is unreliable, but she’s still lucid, churns out sarcasm like a pro, and plays a lightning-fast game of double solitaire. Today I finally quit after she won seven games in a row, and, yes, I was trying my best. She also hears music continuously, and it’s not the kind of music that drives us nuts when we can’t get a tune out of our head. She mainly hears original music, and she will sometimes try to hum or sing what she’s hearing.
The Gravest Threat From Big Tech
And there’s another way to completely eliminate the threats that Google poses to democracy and humanity…. our government could quickly end Google’s monopoly on search by declaring that the database Google uses to generate search results is a “public commons,” accessible to all. It is a very old legal concept, and it is a light-touch form of regulation. It would rapidly lead to the creation of thousands of competing search platforms, each appealing to different audiences.
Big Tech's Greatest Threat: "They leave no paper trail for authorities to trace. They are the perfect weapon for changing... the outcome of elections"
(Image source: iStock) "Ephemeral experiences": You might never have heard this phrase, but it's a very important concept. These are brief experiences you have online in which content appears briefly and then disappears, leaving no trace. Those are the kinds of experiences we have been preserving in our election monitoring projects. You can't see the search results that Google was showing you last month. They're not stored anywhere, so they leave no paper trail for authorities to trace.
When Big Tech Flexes, Everyone’s Freedom Is Threatened
I am neither a conservative nor a Trump supporter, so my initial reaction when Twitter permanently cut the president off from his 88 million followers was positive. When Trump is not reading a speech prepared by a member of his staff — in other words, when he is just winging it — anything can happen, including, it seems, injury and death. Twitter’s ban was just the start.
