WASHINGTON(7News) — Washington, D.C., could be in for its most active weather day of the week on Thursday, with the greatest threat for strong to severe thunderstorms arriving during the heart of the Thursday afternoon and evening rush. Weather Alert Thursday Afternoon & Early Evening (7News) While a few showers are possible during the morning, the atmosphere is expected to become increasingly unstable as temperatures climb into the mid-to-upper 80s and tropical humidity builds across the region.

WASHINGTON (7News) — Thursday will be one of the hottest days of the year so far, with heat index values expected to reach 100 to 105 degrees during the afternoon. A Weather Alert is in effect as dangerous heat builds across the D.C. area, followed by the chance for strong to severe thunderstorms later in the day. The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for D.C., Arlington and counties east of I-95.
