What was your first job as a journalist?
Reviewer/interviewer for a site that no longer exists, but it was highly formative for my style going forward.
How is social media changing news?
Overall? It's not going particularly well.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Traditionally, if I'm reading a piece of fiction, I want to hear about other roles/professions than my own.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
You're bearing the responsibility to share a candid part of the human experience.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Given the amount of esoteric hardware and software that I work with these days, that list would be pretty extensive.

I aim to befriend folks who want to have interesting, thoughtful conversations.
Why did you become a journalist?
When game dev jobs were too sparse in the indie sector and my inability to stop talking became an asset.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was rigorously homeschooled, and encouraged to flourish as a writer.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Any time I can feature the works of modders/indie devs accomplishing significant triumphs.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I already answered this but, typically in the afternoon/evening hours by nature of being a night owl.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
To do PR for a cult. Yes, really.

In a book

B-Mask does some wonderfully assembled retrospective essays.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That we're overpaid bourgeois when the reality is painfully the opposite.
