I'm a visual journalist -- that means most often, I am integrating drawings or animation into my stories. Whether it's in the form of a comic, an animation, a graphic recording (meaning a drawing of a conversation), or otherwise, I play in the space between reading and seeing.
I’m an experienced graphic recorder, meaning I makes meetings more engaging, memorable and productive by capturing the conversation in visually rich notes — live. I also coach artists and writers on tools like Procreate, storytelling and drawing. I create comics for The Lily, a feminist site by the Washington Post, and my comic anthology The Big Book of Bisexual Trials and Errors (Northwest Press, 2017) was named one of the best LGBT graphic novels of the year by The Advocate. In my free time, I love snuggling my dog, walking to visit my favorite trees, hanging out with my co-op comrades and creating art and music.
