Jonna Burke needs only three victories to become one of the few WPIAL girls basketball coaches to win 600 career games. But Burke is moving on to a different challenge. In what is an eye-opening move on the Western Pennsylvania high school coaching front, Burke has resigned at Shady Side Academy to become the women’s basketball coach at Bethany College, an NCAA Division III school in West Virginia. Burke leaves the WPIAL coaching ranks after 31 seasons at three different schools.
