I like to say that I grew up in a newsroom — after all, I started reporting for my hometown paper while in high school, and had a staff position before I graduated.

I'm a prolific reporter with an ability to write well for diverse audiences and across multiple genres. Even after writing 6-8 stories a week for the Tooele Transcript, I usually head home to spend my free-time writing or conducting research. Consequently, I have authored several books, two of which are published.

What was your first job as a journalist?

I started out as a high school correspondent for the Tooele Transcript-Bulletin. I wrote a humor column and covered news from Tooele High.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I used one to fill out my college applications because the PDF wouldn't let me type in it, and I didn't want to fill it out by hand.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
