Greetings from the heart of Europe, where the extreme heat has already led to the cancellation or postponement of several Pride events across Germany as well as in Paris. Here in Berlin we’re expected to hit 40-41 degrees Celsius tomorrow. And though I bring you some big pieces of news, I can’t help but worry about the future of our planet. Yet here we go. Spain’s lower chamber has voted in favour of banning so-called “conversion therapies” – again.

Ghana’s notorious anti-LGBTQ+ bill has passed. If it becomes law, it will not only harden existing penalties for same-sex relations, but also criminalize the “promotion” of LGBTQ+ rights and even simply identifying as queer. Some exemptions have been added to allow certain groups and professionals, such as journalists, lawyers and healthcare workers, to continue their work.
