I decided to return to college after a sizable gap. The catalyst was the birth of my son in 2017. I wanted to build a better life not only for him, but myself as well.

I spent nearly a decade working in civil service before I made the decision to pursue my passion for writing.

I enrolled at Long Beach State and became an active writer for the Daily Forty-Niner, the school newspaper, as well as interned at the Beachcomber, a small, biweekly newspaper based in Long Beach, Calif.

City-Owned Land Proposed for LBCC Student Housing

The City of Long Beach moves closer to creating student housing and mixed-use development for Long Beach City College, taking steps to transfer city-owned land to the college. City Council came to the resolution at their May 16 meeting, to make steps to transfer the 19,388 square-foot lot to construct mixed-use housing and satellite classrooms as an expansion to LBCC’s nearby higher education center.

Celebrating Cambodian Culture

The gentle breeze over the east side Sunday afternoon was the perfect complement for residents and visitors alike, as Cambodian and American flags waved together as the Cambodian New Year Parade returned for its fifteenth year. The event, first hosted in 2005 to celebrate the Cambodian New Year, returned for the first time after the pandemic.
