One Year In: A Look at the Initial Impacts of LEED v5 on the Built Environment
As federal climate policies shift, the built environment has entered a period of uncertainty where developers, designers and owners need to find pragmatic, forward-looking approaches to sustainability. A year after its launch on April 28, 2025, LEED v5 is helping lead that charge by pushing the industry toward a stronger long-term focus on carbon reduction, climate resilience and building performance.

LEED v5 shifts policy toward outcomes based on decarbonization, social equity and ecosystem restoration. Talking to clients about sustainability can be overwhelming. Here are some tips to make the discussion easier.
As the EPA Rolls Back, Sustainable Building Initiatives Continue Forward
In February, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) made one of the most significant environmental policy shifts in over a decade by reversing the Endangerment Finding. The landmark 2009 scientific determination identified six greenhouse gases that pose a threat to public health and welfare, which enabled the EPA to regulate those gases under the Clean Air Act.
A Closer Look at LEED v5 and Its Impact on the Built Environment
LEED v5 will mark a pivotal moment in the evolution of green building certification (U.S. Green Building Council). With a rebranded focus on carbon reduction, resiliency, and equity, the new version seeks to reclaim LEED’s leadership position in sustainability amidst the rising popularity of other programs like Fitwel and Passive House. Significant updates in LEED v5 are poised to have lasting implications for the building industry and will push boundaries in sustainable design.

Advertisers’ primary goals are increasing sales, whether directly through performance-focused marketing or indirectly via brand-focused marketing. Whatever individual occupies the White House won’t change those goals to any meaningful degree. But that’s not to say advertisers’ investments won’t change depending on the direction of federal policy. There are key variables that affect growth in advertising spend.
Targeting Truth In The Misinformation Age
Gen Z schools America once again. 23-year old Peter McIndoe from Memphis started a movement that went viral: Birds Aren’t Real. The movement propagated a conspiracy theory that the US government replaced all birds with drones sent to spy on its citizens. The movement drew thousands of followers, including 75K on Twitter, 360K on Instagram, and 637K on TikTok. The catch is that none of these followers actually believe in the conspiracy.

How CTV and retail media players are changing US TV’s annual upfront sales negotiations
The US TV selling season known as “the upfronts” is here. Despite occasional grumblings that it even exists in this day and age, upfront negotiations are not going away. In fact, they are still incredibly relevant to advertisers, because they still value the ability to lock in premium, high-quality inventory at set prices or with exclusivity. For 2024, Advertiser Perceptions (AP) is predicting a strong upfront market for media sellers, compared to last year, where overall, it was a buyer’s market.
