From the opening notes of the riffy stomper “Champagne Taste” that began this session, Sunflower Bean made it clear why they’ve been FUV faves for a decade. In 2016, the then 20-year-olds hit us with their formidable debut album, Human Ceremony, establishing them as an essential New York band. The band's fans couldn’t have hoped for a better ride in the subsequent years.

Circa Waves: 2025

Circa Waves set the tone for this FUV Live session by opening with a song they hadn’t planned on doing. It was the first beautiful day of the year and, inspired by the short walk on the Rose Hill Campus, they blasted into “T-Shirt Weather” to usher in the spring of 2025. That song, from the band’s debut album, Young Chaser, had been released ten years ago to the month.

Craig Finn + Kathleen Edwards: Q&A

It was a delight to have both Craig Finn and Kathleen Edwards drop by during my evening show recently for some conversation and to play some of their favorite artists on the radio. The two friends met just a couple of years ago at the Sing Us Home Festival in Philly. Since then, as Kathleen said, they’ve gone from strangers to family. They’ve toured on two continents together and she sang backing vocals on about a half a dozen songs on Finn's 2025 album, Always Been.
