MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Controversy is brewing after Anthony Buckner’s win in the sheriff’s race. Republican Brad Less, who is a lieutenant at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and was also Buckner’s opponent in that race, called WREG on Friday. Buckner won the race with 70% of the vote to Less’s 30%, with about 130,000 votes cast. Less said he received a message Thursday night, just hours after the polls closed, informing him that he was being transferred to another assignment.
