Rain showers will begin from south to north, with rain in the city around midnight into the wee hours of the morning. The showers continue through Sunday morning, but most of us are dry again in the early afternoon. The exception is on Long Island, where the rain will linger longer.

Most of the rain from this system will miss us to both our north and south, with higher chances for rain in central and southern New Jersey as well as the Hudson Valley. In and around the city, we can expect rain showers to arrive around lunchtime.

NEW YORK --- After a chilly start to Friday, the afternoon ended on a pleasant note as temperatures returned into the lower 60s. High pressure will bring another nice and warmer day on Saturday, but a storm system will arrive bringing rain from late Saturday night and continue into Sunday. Skies will remain generally clear Friday night and winds will continue to diminish. Temperatures will trail down to around 50 degrees in the city, while the surrounding suburbs will end up in the 40s.
