Categories: April 9, 2026 On Tuesday, March 31, Macalester hosted its first-ever AI Magic Night in the Weyerhaeuser Boardroom, an event organized by Ride the Next Wave, a local AI “unconsulting” company. The event’s goal was to showcase the ways people are beginning to integrate AI into software and to give Macalester students a chance to network with other people interested in using AI, as well as industry experts.

*This review contains spoilers. Pixar is back. “Hoppers” is the highest rated Pixar movie on Rotten Tomatoes since “Toy Story 4” in 2019, and it lives up to the billing. By going back to a staple of Pixar animation — talking animals with wild and wacky plots mixed with beautiful animation -– Pixar has made its latest classic. “Hoppers” is also more directly political than many other Pixar movies, to mixed results.

March 12, 2026 On Thursday, March 5, the Macalester College Student Government (MCSG) met in the Weyerhaeuser Boardroom to discuss funding for student organizations, attendance at the first-year community gathering and updates from various campus-wide groups and MCSG committees. First on the agenda was an appeal for vans by Pro-Choice @ Mac for their Reproductive Freedom Lobby Day event on March 23.
