EUGENE, Ore. - A Kenyan born singer is getting the chance of a lifetime this weekend in Eugene. Lawrence Barasa will be performing with the Eugene Opera in the upcoming show, “An Opera Trio.” “I’m excited to be the messenger," Barasa said. “It’s just amazing. I thank God for everything.” Barasa said his musical career has been a difficult journey at times. Barasa, a native from Nairobi, Kenya, didn’t discover his singing voice until after breaking his left shoulder while playing rugby in high school.

Dr. Ken Singer and his wife donate $100,000 to Springfield graphic design program

EUGENE, Ore. – Springfield High School is taking the next step in providing career training in graphic design. Wednesday, they kicked off their new program with a special ceremony and donation. It was a day full of celebration at Springfield High School. Students and faculty in the graphic design program gathered to thank Dr. Ken Singer and his wife Kenda for a generous donation to the department.
