4. Discussion Correct staging is essential for the multimodal treatment of patients with NSCLC experiencing mediastinal LN involvement. An integrated 18F-FDG-PET/CT is the standard non-invasive diagnostic tool in lung cancer staging [25]. Consequently, an accurate definition of LN involvement is the prerequisite for effective primary therapy and is associated with the long-term OS of the patients [26].
