Deeper solar wind penetration on the Moon’s farside from noble gas records
Abstract As the Moon lacked an atmosphere and global magnetic field for much of its history, volatile elements in lunar soils are established to originate primarily from solar wind irradiation and meteorite and comet impacts. Potential differences in volatiles and their origins between the near and far sides of the Moon are not well understood. Here we report the noble gas compositions of lunar farside soils sampled by Chang’e-6.
Efficient prime editors for heritable multiplex precision genome editing in soybean
Abstract Prime editing (PE) is limited by low efficiency in dicot plants. Here we develop an optimized PE system for soybean, GmPEplus, by deleting the RNase H domain, introducing a V223A substitution within the reverse transcriptase domain, inserting a viral nucleocapsid protein between Cas9 and reverse transcriptase, and co-expressing a dominant-negative engineered allele of the endogenous GmMLH1. GmPEplus achieves editing efficiencies of up to 81.3% in stable transgenic lines.

China’s export control framework: domestic developments and international positioning
In the United Nations General Assembly and other international forums, China has frequently argued that national and multilateral export control measures infringe on the right of states—particularly developing states—to benefit from international cooperation in science and technology. In particular, it has called out the ‘abuse’ of export controls by some governments to achieve strategic or economic ends that have little to do with non-proliferation.
From deadlock to dialogue on the Korean Peninsula: It is time to revisit the idea of North East Asian regional security talks
Despite an invitation to dialogue extended by the president of the Republic of Korea (South Korea), Lee Jae Myung, to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), the long-standing conflict on the Korean Peninsula does not appear any closer to resolution. So far, Lee’s overtures have received a frosty response from North Korea, which sees little incentive for inter-Korean reconciliation in the absence of engagement with the United States. Although both US President Donald J.

Silencing Proline Dehydrogenases Improves Salt and Drought Tolerance in Gossypium hirsutum
Abstract Proline is a key compound that lowers cell water potential, scavenges reactive oxygen species, and stabilizes biomolecules and cell membranes, thus reducing stress-induced damage. Proline dehydrogenase (ProDH), the first rate-limiting enzyme in proline degradation, plays a crucial role in proline accumulation. We explored the role of the GhProDH gene family in regulating physiological responses to stress conditions through transcriptome, metabolome and functional analyses.
