Microbial control of mucosal wound immunity in colorectal anastomotic healing: from barrier repair to matrix failure
Abstract Colorectal anastomotic leakage is commonly framed as a technical complication or a consequence of intestinal dysbiosis. Neither view fully explains how a contaminated mucosal wound restores epithelial continuity while preserving a load-bearing submucosal matrix.
A collagen-rich adipose matrix complex promotes supraperiosteal soft tissue regeneration by remodeling the mechanical microenvironment
Abstract Soft-tissue regeneration in periosteum-adjacent recipient beds is limited by poor perfusion and an unfavorable mechanical microenvironment. We investigated whether an autologous collagen-rich adipose matrix complex (AMC) could improve graft retention and remodeling in a cranial supraperiosteal model. Compared with Coleman fat, AMC showed greater long-term retention and a more stable remodeling course.
Causal interpretation of sedation depth and mortality during venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
Dear Editor We read with great interest the multicenter cohort study by Li et al. [Citation1], which examined early metabolic trajectories and sedation depth in 1,484 adults receiving veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-V ECMO) for severe pneumonia or acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
Age-dependent heterogeneity in brain networks and interhemispheric synchrony in overactive bladder syndrome
Abstract Overactive bladder (OAB) may involve age-dependent alterations in brain networks, but whether age modifies structural network organization and interhemispheric synchrony remains unclear. In this cross-sectional study, 111 participants with OAB and 114 healthy controls were classified as young (≤ 40 years), middle-aged (41–65 years), and older (> 65 years).
Bioinformatics and machine learning-based exploration of psychological stress-related genes: clinical significance for diagnosis and molecular classification in acute myocardial infarction
Abstract Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) substantially contributes to global mortality and disability, and psychological stress constitutes a crucial correlative factor in its pathogenesis. This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers linked to psychological‑stress‑related genes (PSRGs) in patients with AMI. Four integrated gene‑expression training datasets were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, while PSRGs were retrieved from the GeneCards database.
Surveillance burden in pulmonary nodule management
Introduction Computed tomography (CT) surveillance is central to managing indeterminate pulmonary nodules when malignancy probability does not warrant immediate invasive evaluation or treatment (1–3). Although surveillance avoids premature procedures, it remains an active longitudinal care process: prior examinations must be retrieved and compared, follow-up imaging scheduled and completed, results communicated, and subsequent decisions revisited under uncertainty.
Confinement-dependent characteristic stresses, energy evolution and pre-peak brittleness of granite under triaxial compression
Abstract Understanding the pressure-dependent cracking and energy evolution of granite is essential for evaluating the stability of deep tunnel surrounding rock under complex in-situ stress conditions. In this study, uniaxial and conventional triaxial compression tests were conducted on granite specimens under confining pressures of 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 MPa to investigate the evolution of mechanical behaviour, characteristic stresses, energy partitioning, and the pre-peak energy-storage state.
Association of atherogenic index of plasma and its modified indices with gestational diabetes mellitus: a prospective cohort study based on the Korean population
Abstract Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common pregnancy complication, yet current diagnosis at 24–28 weeks may occur after metabolic changes have already begun. The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP, log₁₀[TG/HDL-C]) has shown promise for early GDM risk stratification, but it does not incorporate obesity-related parameters.
π-Bond Electronic Structure Engineering for Autogenous Mn 3+ /Mn 4+ Redox in Li/Co/Ni-Free Fe-Mn-Based Cathodes
1 Introduction The value of sodium-ion batteries in the energy storage market is being increasingly amplified. Rather than simply replacing lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries serve as a crucial supplement and expansion to the existing energy storage system, continuously giving rise to new business models and market opportunities [1-14].
Comment on “Physiological phenotypes of obstructive sleep apnea identified by cluster analysis: Association with type 2 diabetes”
Dear Editor, We read with great interest the study by Osawa et al., who used polysomnographic data and unsupervised clustering to identify physiological phenotypes of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and examine their associations with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)1. This multidimensional approach offers a valuable perspective beyond conventional apnea–hypopnea index (AHI)-based severity classification.
The algorithmic management paradox: a structured integrative review of perceived autonomy on performance in digital workplaces
Abstract Digital workplaces increasingly delegate managerial functions such as task allocation, scheduling, monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and sanctioning to software systems. These systems can improve coordination speed, scalability, and consistency, but they also redistribute worker discretion in uneven ways. This article examines that tension as an algorithmic management autonomy paradox.

Lack of synergy between AR targeted therapies and PARP inhibitors in homologous recombination-proficient prostate cancer
Abstract Recent clinical trials have explored the combination of androgen receptor (AR) pathway inhibitors and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors as a potential treatment for castration-resistant prostate cancer. This combination treatment is based on the premise that AR directly regulates expression of DNA repair genes, leading to synergy between PARP and AR inhibition.

A geographic evolutionary framework with multi-task optimization of automatic hyperparameter tuning for spatially stratified machine learning models
Abstract The rapid growth of spatial data across various fields has made data-driven machine learning (ML) methods increasingly essential for spatial analysis. The performance of ML methods heavily depends on hyperparameter tuning (HPT), which becomes particularly challenging when dealing with spatial stratified heterogeneity (SSH) that causes significant variability in statistical characteristics across sub-regions and demands separate local models.

Test of Nonlocal Energy Alteration between Two Quantum Memories
When two particles are spin entangled, one may exhibit behavior that suggests its spin can nonlocally influence the spin of the other. This implies that the energy of the latter particle can be altered by a nonlocal quantum correlation, without enabling any form of superluminal communication. This energy alteration, however, remains to be experimentally testified. To test this phenomenon, we construct an incomplete Mach-Zehnder interferometer utilizing two quantum memories.
