Architects David Weingarten and Lucia Howard of Lafayette, California, have collected over 4,000 pieces of artwork and architectural souvenirs from the 17th- to 19th-century Europe, transforming their home into a de facto gallery and museum.

The birthplace of the iconic Ford Model T automobile, the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant in Detroit, Michigan, still stands today, and is considered one of the most significant automotive heritage sites in the world. Built in 1904 in the neighborhood of Milwaukee Junction, the late-Victorian style brick building was modeled after New England textile mills and measures 402 feet long and 56 feet wide over three stories, with 67,000 square feet of floorspace.

Among the homes of Rockland County, just north of Manhattan, is a farmhouse that has been featured in over 1,800 films, TV shows, and commercials. Douglas House has its reputation not only for being a sprawling, picturesque set but, by design, is built to facilitate easy and efficient production. And at the age of 91, Marjorie Douglas, the home’s owner, has hosted film and television crews about once a week for 36 years.
