SHREVEPORT, La — What started as a $600 dream of bringing home a new puppy turned into a $16,000 nightmare for an Arkansas man who says he never received the dog he was promised. Grant Tomlin says he was finally ready to get another dog after losing his chocolate Labrador retriever to cancer four years ago. "She was pretty much my best friend," Tomlin said. "Went with me everywhere, did everything I did. So it took me four years to get to the point where I wanted another dog," he said Friday.

SHREVEPORT, La. — A multi-million dollar request for new police equipment from law enforcement agencies in Caddo Parish is on hold while Caddo commissioners wait on more information before deciding how much each agency will get. The Caddo Commission's Public Safety Committee on Thursday hit pause on the requests that total $2.8 million. Committee members voted to seek more financial information from 12 agencies before making a recommendation on how to distribute the money.
