There had been a mixed response among Nottingham Forest fans to the bringing in of Ange Postecoglou as Nuno Espirito Santo's successor. The Australian coach led Tottenham to Europa League triumph in May but their Premier League form last season was awful, as they finished just one place above the relegation zone. A quirk of the fixture list meant that Postecoglou's first four games at Forest were all away.

Brighton Antifolk Festival, 12th Oct “It’s time for the odd to get even,” claims the flyer for this autumn’s Brighton Antifolk Festival. And it’s an appropriate tagline for this quirky, neuro-diverse salad bowl of an event. Its organiser, Filthy Pedro (of recent Blang Records signings En Heat) co-founded the London Antifolk Festival in London in 2004, inspired by the New York scene that spawned the likes of Moldy Peaches, Jeffrey Lewis and Beck.

It sounds like a perfect fit, but it could turn out to be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, there’s no shortage of food-loving music nerds in this city. On the other… your vinyl selection better be just as crispy as your fried polenta.
