Just one example. You see this in practically every genre of journalism. It's lazy and actively misinforms readers.

An example: "I talked to some Trump supporters" stories. Those can and should be verified with polling. For the most part, they aren't.

It's awful how "reporting" is often only about gathering anecdotes. It should involve verifying those anecdotes with research and data.

News editor at The News Record, the University of Cincinnati's independent student newspaper.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I'm glad I'm too young to have experienced it in the work place.

How is social media changing news?

For one, it's diminishing the value of breaking news and emphasizing good research, analysis and context.
