Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

I used to work on paper magazines for the biggest publisher (at the time) of video game journalism in Italy.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I'm that old.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To serve your readers with content they don't already know about.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter

Why did you become a journalist?

I like writing and love video games.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I don't think my high school even had one.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Final Fantasy XIV's rebirth. I never stopped writing about it even when it wasn't cool.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be ready to work very, very hard.

When's the best time to pitch you?

All times are best times.

What's your favorite drink?

Water.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Sleeping.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

Many believe that reporting news about video games is easy or that it's "being paid to play video games."
