It means you're tasked with weeding through all of life's crap to find the actually awesome stuff.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Suuuuuuuper short email that sums up the 2,000-word press release you wanted to send me into two sentences. Phone is cool too.

If you want a job, ask for it. If the guy you ask says no, ask someone else he works with. Eventually, someone will say yes.

Literally, any time. I like pitches.
