Weather Impact days for the heat remain in place through the holiday weekend. A heat advisory is in effect outside of the mountains from noon until 8 p.m. Saturday. Heat indices will once again top 105 in many areas. Air temperatures hit the mid to upper 90s, with low to mid 90s in the mountains. We will remain close to record highs. Rain chances remain limited to isolated, pop-up activity, mainly over the mountains. Any storms that develop could become gusty.

A stray shower will be possible early, then dry through the rest of the night. Temperatures will slowly decrease through the evening and overnight. Lows will only cool to the low-to-mid-70s. Heat is the main story through the holiday weekend. Thursday through Sunday will be Weather Impact Days due to the extreme heat. Anyone who spends extended periods of time outside should take frequent breaks and hydrate often Highs in the mid to upper 90s, with some lower 90s in the mountains, are expected.

A few clouds will linger overnight with dry conditions. Temperatures will cool to the low to mid 70s. More heat is expected for Wednesday as highs will be in the mid 90s in the Upstate and low to mid 90s in the mountains. Feels-like temperatures could get up to the triple digits. Only a few stray pop-up showers are possible in the afternoon, mostly in the mountains. Heat is the main story through the holiday weekend. Wednesday through Sunday will be weather impact days due to the extreme heat.
