The rise of megaprojects: counting the costs
Australian governments are committing to a record number of ‘mega’ transport projects, and that exposes taxpayers to mega risks of cost blowouts. Ten years ago there was just one transport infrastructure project in Australia worth more than $5 billion. Today there are nine, and costs have already blown out by $24 billion on just six of them. Inland Rail from Melbourne to Brisbane was costed at $4.4 billion in 2010; it’s now estimated to cost $9.9 billion.

Video: Bringing Humanity Back to Hiring
May 02, 2019gregmoran2 For all the benefits that technology brings to recruiting, advanced tech has also caused us to hire reactively. Hundreds of candidates (to no fault of their own) fill out a job application online based on the job title — with no little to no clues of what the job involves or if they’re a good fit for the organization. On the hiring side, we’ve turned the resume into a keyword search instead of being a window into a person’s performance potential.

Subscription models are here to stay
It’s official. India (and the world) is awash with personal subscriptions. It wasn’t always this way. Turn the clock back to 10 years ago, and the scenario was very different. The vast proliferation of app-based digital services have no doubt played the captain of the subscription ship's exciting journey.
Accidents in a self-driven world: Who is liable
The self drive industry has grown by leaps and bounds in India in the last few years. However, there are still certain parts of the product experience that have the potential to induce anxiety. Most individuals who opt for a self drive vehicle tend to be less frequent drivers, a common concern what happens in the event of an accident. Understandably, this is the most frightening outcome of a self drive experience.
Battery swapping: The future of electric vehicle charging
It’s inevitable that any discussion on electric vehicles will inevitably gravitate towards charging infrastructure. In nearly all instances, these conversations center around the deployment of charging plug points where the vehicles draw electric current from the local power grid. These charging stations are designed to dispatch AC or DC power (alternating current or direct current, respectively).
Year One: Zoomcar’s Greg Moran tells us how he navigated a ‘mental minefield’
For any startup that harbours long-term ambitions, surviving the first year of operations and coming out unscathed is the key. The first year brings with it self-doubts, human resource challenges, issues with co-founders if there are multiple partners, financial crunches, and market challenges. Tiding over these difficulties and surviving to tell the story by making it to the second year takes guts and perseverance, and only a few are blessed with it.
Car subscribing is the new buying: automobile ownership in the age of millennials

Whether it be Amazon Prime, Netflix, Spotify, or the countless other services out there, it certainly seems like subscriptions are capturing the hearts, minds, and wallets of the consumer with ever-increasing vigour. That development seems poised to continue, given the convenience, value, and choice offered. In India, it’s no different. A Processor's Guide to GDPR: Navigating Data Privacy in the Midst of Conscious Incompetence
Like it or not, we need to figure out how to talk about GDPR. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to make it fun. The Inconvenient Truths of Enterprise Collaboration Monitoring
We have started to turn the corner on next-gen collaboration in the enterprise. With millennials comprising the majority of today’s workforce, companies are rapidly adopting collaboration tools that reflect the consumer experience that millennials grew up with, and that Generation Xers and baby boomers have adapted to. Members of Gen Z can’t even talk about email. While email certainly isn’t going anywhere, it has a narrower role in business than it once did.

While there’s certainly a litany of jargon that bubbles up to the surface, when it comes to businesses dealing with the government, there’s no better buzz word than ‘Public Private Partnership’ (PPP).
