HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — There are many wise sayings that convey the truth about running a marathon. Two great ones are “Start Slow and Taper Off” and “Twenty Miles of Running and Six Miles of Truth.” First, a marathon is 26.2 miles, which usually encompasses the normal range of emotions. “This is great. This is what I trained for. This is exhilarating.” On mile 17 or so, that joy turns into this … “I hate this. This is miserable. I’ll never make it.” Most people are glad they made it.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – If there was ever a musical designed for the contentious political times that we’re in right now, it’s “1776.” The musical opened in 1969 and won three Tony Awards. The awards were for Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, and Ronald Holgate won for Best Featured Actor in a musical. One of the many things you find out is that the politicians in 1776 who created the country were just as cranky, eccentric, and robustly unique as they are now.

Some days, rather than a step forward, there were two steps back. But it's not in Melissa's nature to quit at anything. What can you bring with you to Rock the South? Slowly, she recovered. Melissa graduated from college during the recovery and returned to the theatre stage, acting in plays.
