Severe Hypokalemia With Rhabdomyolysis—A Case Report
1 Introduction Hypokalemia is defined as serum potassium levels less than 3.5 mmol/L, and it has been more prevalent in the United States (US) from 1999 to 2016 [1]. The clinical manifestations of hypokalemia are variable and subtle, with symptomatology depending on severity and onset.
Interfacial Stabilization of Ni-Rich Li[Ni0.90Co0.05Mn0.05]O2 Cathode through Synergetic Borate and Carbonate Additives
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! The development of stable Ni-rich cathodes is critical to the advancement of high-energy lithium-ion batteries. Their practical deployment, however, remains severely limited by rapid interfacial degradation and capacity fading that stem from their inherent surface reconstruction, oxygen evolution, strenuous phase transitions, and micro- and crystal structure degradation, especially when cycled above 4.1 V.

Meta-analysis and meta-regression of intermittent fasting effects on glycaemic control in type 2 diabetes: Subgroup analyses and variability
Introduction Type 2 diabetes (T2D), a prevalent and progressive metabolic disorder, affects hundreds of millions worldwide, with numbers projected to exceed 700 million by 2045 [1]. T2D management commonly combines pharmaceutical treatments with lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise [2]. Recently, intermittent fasting (IF) has emerged as a potential strategy for improving glycaemic control in T2D [3].
A fast X-ray transient from a weak relativistic jet associated with a type Ic-BL supernova - Nature Astronomy
|
Abstract Massive stars end their lives as core-collapse supernovae, among which some extremes are broad-lined type Ic supernovae from Wolf–Rayet stars associated with long-duration gamma-ray bursts (LGRBs) with powerful relativistic jets.

Tolerance strategies for cascading failures in platform-aggregated manufacturing service collaboration
Nowadays, Manufacturing Services Collaboration (MSC) is carried on the Industrial Internet platform, through technologies such as advanced sensing, data analysis and storage, and cloud-side collaboration. Relying on the Industrial Internet platform, the MSC realizes supply–demand matching through the tripartite linkage mode of service provider-Industrial Internet Platform-service demander [1], [2].
rs-TAC PDC, a peptide drug-conjugate, for targeted delivery of tacrolimus and sericin alleviates podocyte injury in diabetic nephropathy
Epidemiological studies indicate that diabetic nephropathy (DN) remains the leading cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD), affecting an estimated 415 million individuals worldwide [1], [2], [3]. Podocytes are visceral epithelial cells with complex cellular structures, including a cell body, major processes, and foot processes (FPs).

Optimizing the d-band center of Pd/CoPcS-Ti3C2Tx to enhance SOD/CAT-mimicking activities in the treatment of osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the primary cause of disability among the elderly, affecting over 400 million people globally [1], [2]. However, there are no effective medications to slow or reverse disease progression currently [3], [4], [5].
Basic guidelines of the first−principles calculations for suitable selection of electrochemical Li storage materials: A review
Basic guidelines of the first−principles calculations for suitable selection of electrochemical Li storage materials: A review In this work, the practical way of using the first−principles calculations in rechargeable Li batteries to understand the associated electrochemical Li storage reactions as well as support researchers in identifying the suitable electrode and electrolyte materials is described.
Synergistically coupled double conductive coating-based electronic textiles with superhydrophobic and high-performance strain sensing properties for underwater human motion sensing applications
Introduction Wearable strain sensors based on textiles have drawn much attention owing to their unique characteristics, such as stretchability, air permeability and wearing comfort [1], [2], [3], [4], [5].
RITUXIMAB VERSUS BORTEZOMIB PLUS CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE AND DEXAMETHASONE IN NEWLY DIAGNOSED SYMPTOMATIC WALDENSTRöM MACROGLOBULINEMIA: A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED PHASE 3 TRIAL
Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM) is a rare type of lymphoma, for which rituximab- or bortezomib-based regimens are commonly used as first-line treatment. However, the optimal treatment regimen remains unknown. This study was a randomized, phase 3 clinical trial to compare the efficacy of rituximab, cyclophosphamide, and dexamethasone (RCD) with bortezomib, cyclophosphamide, and dexamethasone (BCD) in newly diagnosed WM patients (NCT02844322).
EXOSOME MIRNAS PROFILING IN SERUM AND PROGNOSTIC EVALUATION IN PATIENTS WITH MULTIPLE MYELOMA
Introduction: Multiple Myeloma (MM) is an incurable hematological malignancy. Tightly crosstalk through microRNAs (miRNAs) carried by exosomes between the bone marrow microenvironment and MM cells plays pivotal roles in MM. Our study aimed to identify the expression profile of exosomal miRNAs (exo-miRNAs) in the serum of MM patients and investigate the regulation network and their potential functions.

Prurigo pigmentosa following a ketogenic diet: a case report - European Journal of Clinical Nutrition
Abstract A 19-year-old female of South Asian descent presented with a three-day history of pruritic, clustered papules and vesicles on her abdomen, associated with significant pruritus and intermittent pain. She commenced a ketogenic diet four days prior to the emergence of the rash. Histopathological and clinical findings were in keeping with prurigo pigmentosa, an uncommon dermatosis characterised by pruritic, erythematous papules and vesicles presenting reticulated on the back, chest and neck.

Photonic paper: Multiscale assembly of reflective cellulose sheets in Lunaria annua
Abstract Bright, iridescent colors observed in nature are often caused by light interference within nanoscale periodic lattices, inspiring numerous strategies for coloration devoid of inorganic pigments. Here, we describe and characterize the septum of the Lunaria annua plant that generates large (multicentimeter), freestanding iridescent sheets, with distinctive silvery-white reflective appearance.
Is psoriasis a risk factor of angiography‐proven coronary artery disease?
Psoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory disease mainly involving the skin and joints and is associated with various immunologic and inflammatory mechanisms. Atherosclerosis is now also confirmed to be an inflammatory disorder. Similar inflammatory mechanisms have been shown in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and atherosclerosis.1 This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Self-standing and shape-memorable UV-curing epoxy polymers for three-dimensional (3D) continuous-filament printing
In the development of three-dimensional printable materials for high-speed and high-resolution printing, UV-curing polymers can guarantee fast and precise printing of high performance load-bearing structures, but the injected drops of the monomers tend to spread over the substrates due to their low viscosity.

Structural and functional quantitative susceptibility mapping from standard fMRI studies
Standard functional MRI (fMRI), which includes resting-state or paradigm-driven designs, is widely used in studies of brain function, aging, and disease. These fMRI studies typically use two-dimensional gradient echo-planar imaging, which inherently contains phase data that enables quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM).
