Fairness evaluation of large language models in academic library reference services
Abstract As libraries explore large language models (LLMs) for use in virtual reference services, a key question arises: Can LLMs serve all users equitably, regardless of demographics or social status? While they offer great potential for scalable support, LLMs may also reproduce societal biases embedded in their training data, risking the integrity of libraries’ commitment to equitable service.
Evaluation of construction progress of smart highway: a Bayesian network model
Abstract Accurate progress control is essential for intelligent highway construction, where the integration of advanced electromechanical equipment, digital technologies, and complex construction interfaces makes traditional progress evaluation methods insufficient. To address this issue, this study proposes a progress evaluation framework tailored to the characteristics of intelligent highway projects.

Abstract This article systematically discusses the application of blockchain in the auditing process, and thoroughly analyzes the current research status, existing challenges, and future development trends. The blockchain shows great benefits in terms of optimizing the auditing process especially in increasing the integrity and reliability of auditing data, the effectiveness of auditing and automated execution of contracts.
Thin membranes with Cu-ion crosslinking for high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells
Abstract High-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells offer inherent impurity tolerance and simplified thermal/water management. However, conventional phosphoric acid-doped membranes must be relatively thick (typically >50 μm) to counteract H3PO4-induced mechanical degradation, leading to ohmic losses that limit fuel cell performance.

Chromosome level genome assembly of taro ( Colocasia esculenta )
Abstract Taro (Colocasia esculenta), a crop native to Southeast Asia, is classified under the genus Colocasia of the family Araceae. Here, the taro genome was assembled to the chromosome level, yielding a 2,336.63 Mb assembly with a scaffold N50 of 181.70 Mb. A total of 96.86% of assembled contigs were positioned onto 14 chromosomes through Hi-C scaffolding. Repeat annotation indicated that 85.16% of the genome (1,989.98 Mb) comprises repetitive sequences.

Assessment of pressure discomfort for over-ear wearables and the relationships with objective metrics
Abstract The objective of this study is to develop an enhanced methodology for analysing individuals’ perceptions of discomfort due to the pressure exerted by over-ear headphones. Using principal component analysis and K-means clustering, we categorise 602 samples into six clusters and create representative Chinese head-and-ear models. A pressure tester was then developed to quantify the pressure exerted on head and ear regions by the headphone cushions.

Recurrent hypoglycemia induced by clopidogrel: A case report and mini review
INTRODUCTION Insulin autoimmune syndrome (IAS), also known as Hirata's disease, was first described by Professor Hirata in 19701. IAS or autoimmune hypoglycemia (AIH) is characterized by hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia with elevated insulin autoantibodies (IAAs). It is frequently associated with the use of sulfhydryl group medications or exposure to exogenous insulin, or triggered by autoimmune disease2.

Computerized Ionospheric Tomography Based on the ADS-B System
Abstract : The broadcast automatic dependent surveillance (ADS-B) system is a new-generation air traffic control system designed to avoid the waste of resources in secondary radars. The establishment of the spaceborne ADS-B system provides a broad prospect for ionospheric tomography. In this paper, the external observation information of the ionosphere is obtained by measuring the Faraday rotation angle, that is, the total electron content (TEC).
Ergonomic Design and Assessment of an Improved Handle for a Laparoscopic Dissector Based on 3D Anthropometry
4. Discussion The main objective of this work was to develop an ergonomic handle for a laparoscopic dissector with the considerations of anthropometry and dynamic hand positioning to reduce the risk of MSD during LS. In this study, the new handle, the IH, was designed using 3D anthropometric data obtained from scanning the maximal positions of hand movement.
Porous Proton Exchange Membrane with High Stability and Low Hydrogen Permeability Realized by Dense Double Skin Layers Constructed with Amino tris (methylene phosphonic acid)
Abstract Porous proton exchange membranes (PEMs) with abundant porous structures show enhanced phosphoric acid (PA) doping levels and proton transport capability. However, the high PA loss rate and serious hydrogen cross-over lead to poor membrane stability. Enhancing the stability of PA-doped porous PEMs is therefore crucial for obtaining high-performance proton exchange membrane fuel cells.

Empowering alcohols as carbonyl surrogates for Grignard-type reactions
Abstract The Grignard reaction is a fundamental tool for constructing C-C bonds. Although it is widely used in synthetic chemistry, it is normally applied in early stage functionalizations owing to poor functional group tolerance and less availability of carbonyls at late stages of molecular modifications. Herein, we report a Grignard-type reaction with alcohols as carbonyl surrogates by using a ruthenium(II) PNP-pincer complex as catalyst.
