Introduction: Women veterans (WV) currently make up 20% of the veteran population, are the fastest growing military sector, and also are the population demonstrating the largest growth in VA utilization. Because of this, an accurate understanding of the distribution of WV across the United States (US) is essential to support development of appropriate women’s health initiatives, such as breast cancer programs, at many VA medical centers (VAMCs) which lack them.
