A high-tech, interactive dining experience is coming to Arlington in late 2026 featuring a sushi menu spanning 100 different items. Mixing technology and Japanese cuisine, Kura Sushi is known for its tableside conveyor belt sushi delivery and large menu. Created in Japan in 1977, the chain expanded to the United States in 2008 and later found great success in the North Texas area. The Arlington restaurant will mark the eighth Kura location in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

Michael McPherson, university provost and vice president for academic affairs, stepped down from his post on May 4, as announced by university President Harrison Keller in an email to faculty and staff. The email says McPherson will now serve in a newly created position – senior advisor to the president. According to accountability reports, there has not yet been a senior advisor to the president. McPerson has served as the provost and vice president for academic affairs since June 2022.

As I wrap up my time at the North Texas Daily, I have over a year of memories, reporting and achievements to reflect on. It is no secret that the spring semester brings a wicked news cycle, and these past few months have been no exception. A $45 million budget deficit, 85 program cuts and consolidations and the second art censorship controversy in the past year defined our coverage this semester.
