At a meeting Monday, all eight of the board’s elected trustees said they couldn’t endorse a balanced budget until the board’s top administrator, Vince Romeo, and his colleagues come up with a better plan. Legally, they must submit a budget to the Ministry of Education by June 30, and trustees are expected to hear from board officials later this week about potential revisions.

‘Distraught’ student raises alarm over Thames Valley course cuts

A London-area high school student says she is “distraught” after learning the cash-strapped Thames Valley District school board has slashed so many classes that she fears some students may not be able to graduate. “I am very distraught and frustrated with the lack of courses and funding cuts,” she said.
