Morning, gang. What to with, or do about, the results of last week’s price discovery process? That’s a difficult question. How about certain positions? That’s an even tougher question. The headline-level indexes were indeed tested, but for the most part, passed those tests, at least technically. That said, the final two trading sessions of the four-day holiday impacted workweek sported a ferocious beatdown that rotated capital out of semiconductor stocks and other “AI-type” stocks.

Note: My eye surgery last week was successful, so on Wednesday, I will have the left eye done. I am currently quite lopsided, so if I post any charts that look weird, let’s blame it on the eyes! In any event, I will take the rest of the week off, and with luck, I will be able to see the charts again this weekend with both eyes! The next column will be Monday, June 1st. We may as well begin with the semis since it’s their world and we’re just trading in it.

The Market Note: it’s time for me to have the left eye done! The doctor says the right eye was a success, so with any luck, I’ll be good as new this coming weekend. Right now, I’m a bit lopsided. Thanks, everyone, for all the well-wishes. The next issue of Top Stocks will be on Sunday, May 31st. I would say that the others got to play today, but it was selective among them. The banks lagged. The Utes, which I like but expect to be bumpy, ran smack into resistance and closed near the low.
