Electric scooters will return to East Lansing sometime this summer, but this time there will be different regulations in place. In March, the East Lansing City Council passed an ordinance to regulate electric scooters. The ordinance established a licensing agreement and safety provisions for the scooter companies, which went into effect on March 20. So far there have been two scooter companies, Spin and Gotcha, who have filed for a licensing agreement with the city. Both are new to East Lansing.

You might see more green than usual this weekend since the Spartans entered the Final Four of March Madness. But for one fan in particular, sporting green is the usual. Sister Pat Newhouse is a nun at Saint Martha Catholic Church in Okemos. She said for the past 16 years she's dressed up in Spartan outfits for basketball games and even has a Spartan Christmas tree, year-round. During March Madness, Sister Pat hasn't been able to fly to the games, but she said she's still there in spirit.

Many Michigan State University basketball fans gathered on campus to watch the Final Four game and took to the streets of East Lansing after the loss. Texas Tech defeated the Spartans 61 to 51 in Minneapolis on Saturday night. Hundreds of fans and students who couldn’t drive to the Final Four game gathered at Munn Ice Arena to watch the matchup. Dondre Morgan drove to East Lansing from Inkster. Although he didn’t see the Spartans win, he enjoyed being in the company of fellow sports fans.
