SIOUX FALLS — A cryptocurrency investor in Sioux Falls is facing federal charges after prosecutors say he defrauded several investors in multiple states. A federal grand jury handed down an indictment against 43-year-old Benjamin Wiener, of Sioux Falls, on 29 counts, the Department of Justice announced Thursday, July 16. The charges include eight counts of wire fraud, 19 counts of money laundering, one count of bank fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft.

SIOUX FALLS — A wide-ranging law enforcement effort led to the arrests of nearly three dozen parole absconders, gang members and their associates, also removing drugs and guns from Sioux Falls’ streets. The three-day operation ran the week of July 6, and resulted in 35 total arrests, clearing 55 warrants. Eight of those arrests were confirmed to be parole absconders, while 11 individuals were confirmed to have new felony-level state charges lodged against them.
