For the second time in a week, a French Quarter restaurant contending with slow-rolling infrastructure work and road closures on Decatur Street has closed. This time it’s LUFU NOLA at 1117 Decatur St. “We tried everything we could, but it reached the point where we couldn’t keep it open,” said Aman Kota, one of the three chefs who created the restaurant. Their original LUFU NOLA at 301 St. Charles Ave. remains open.

The tuna crudo at Pluck wine bar was dressed, very lightly, the way we all should be in the summer. The rosé poured beside it was silky-smooth, crisp and just right next to the velvety tuna gleaming with an earthy and mellow salsa macha with fresh summer blackberries. But we weren’t done with this pairing. Tuna crudo with salsa macha and blackberries is paired with a Finger Lakes region rose wine at Pluck, a wine bar and restaurant in downtown New Orleans.

A family-friendly Metairie restaurant for Tex-Mex and margaritas will soon close

A restaurant that put a central but previously vacant crossroads of Metairie on the map with Tex-Mex food and margaritas will soon close. Las Cruces Tex Mex, at 2935 Airline Dr., will offer its last day of service on June 28, owner Marc Bonifacic said. Las Cruces Tex-Mex in Metairie has indoor and outdoor areas and TV screens showing the game throughout.
