The Denver Broncos have signed coach Sean Payton to a new five-year contract, the team announced Thursday. Payton, 62, had two years remaining on his current contract. This five-year deal replaces that contract. Financial details of Payton's new deal were not disclosed. Payton led the Broncos to the AFC Championship Game in his third season as the Broncos' coach after guiding Denver to a 14-3 regular season record in 2025.

The Chiefs are adding two years to Patrick Mahomes' contract in a reworked contract that ties him to Kansas City through 2033 at a value of $504.75 million, making it the first NFL deal valued at over a half-billion dollars, sources told ESPN. Equity Sports CEO Chris Cabott and Chiefs general manager Brett Veach and his staff put the finishing touches on the landmark agreement Wednesday.
