A preinvasive regulatory T cell axis for lung cancer interception
Abstract Late-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is rarely curable1, underscoring a need to intervene earlier in the disease process. Growing evidence suggests that antitumour T cell responses are mounted but become progressively dysregulated during early tumorigenesis2,3. Tracking and targeting preinvasive T cell regulation may inform new approaches to detect and intercept lung cancer development.

Human-HAZOP Approach for Identifying Hazards and Evaluating Risks in Ship Recycling Activities in Bangladesh
1. Introduction For over four decades, Bangladesh has been internationally recognized as one of the major centres for ship recycling. Recently, Bangladesh has reaffirmed its position as the leading ship recycling nation, with more than half of the world’s ships recycled there [1]. This success is mainly attributed to its lower labour costs and strategic geographic location.
Insights into Passenger Vessel Accidents and Casualties in Bangladesh: A Characteristics Analysis
The maritime safety of Bangladesh is significantly deteriorating due to recurrent passenger vessel accidents. This study is aimed to perform a comprehensive characteristics analysis of passenger vessel accidents during 2008 to 2022. The accident data is collected from Department of Shipping and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority. The analysis is performed by using Microsoft Excel and Geographical Information System (GIS) software, and the results are presented in graphical forms.
Evolution of the tuberculin skin test reveals generalisable Mtb-reactive T cell metaclones - Nature Communications
|
Abstract T cells contribute to immune protection and pathogenesis in tuberculosis, but measurements of polyclonal responses have failed to resolve correlates of outcome. We report the temporal evaluation of the human in vivo clonal repertoire of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb)-reactive T cell responses, by T cell receptor (TCR) sequencing at the site of the tuberculin skin test, as a model for a standardised antigenic challenge.

Axonal injury is a targetable driver of glioblastoma progression - Nature
Abstract Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive and highly therapy-resistant brain tumour1,2. Although advanced disease has been intensely investigated, the mechanisms that underpin the earlier, likely more tractable, stages of GBM development remain poorly understood. Here we identify axonal injury as a key driver of GBM progression, which we find is induced in white matter by early tumour cells preferentially expanding in this region.

In the originally published version of this article, an older version of Figure 4 was used. This older version lacked one of the panels, leading to a misalignment between the figure and its description in the figure legend and main text. The correct version of Figure 4 with all the data panels is now included.

Aberrant basal cell clonal dynamics shape early lung carcinogenesis
Abstract Preinvasive squamous lung lesions are precursors of lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). The cellular events underlying lesion formation are unknown. Using a carcinogen-induced model of LUSC with no added genetic hits or cell type bias, we find that carcinogen exposure leads to non-neutral competition among basal cells, aberrant clonal expansions, and basal cell mobilization along the airways.

Tissue CD14+CD8+ T cells reprogrammed by myeloid cells and modulated by LPS - Nature

Abstract The liver is bathed in bacterial products, including lipopolysaccharide transported from the intestinal portal vasculature, but maintains a state of tolerance that is exploited by persistent pathogens and tumours1,2,3,4. The cellular basis mediating this tolerance, yet allowing a switch to immunity or immunopathology, needs to be better understood for successful immunotherapy of liver diseases.

Benchmarking of T cell receptor repertoire profiling methods reveals large systematic biases
Abstract Monitoring the T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire in health and disease can provide key insights into adaptive immune responses, but the accuracy of current TCR sequencing (TCRseq) methods is unclear. In this study, we systematically compared the results of nine commercial and academic TCRseq methods, including six rapid amplification of complementary DNA ends (RACE)-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and three multiplex-PCR approaches, when applied to the same T cell sample.
Publisher Correction: Spatial heterogeneity of the T cell receptor repertoire reflects the mutational landscape in lung cancer
Correction to: Nature Medicine https://doi.org/10.1038/s41591-019-0592-2, published online 7 October 2019. In the version of this article initially published, the list of members and affiliations for the TRACERx Consortium was provided as a Supplementary Note. The list should have been provided in the online version. The error has been corrected in the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
Spatial heterogeneity of the T cell receptor repertoire reflects the mutational landscape in lung cancer
Abstract Somatic mutations together with immunoediting drive extensive heterogeneity within non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Herein we examine heterogeneity of the T cell antigen receptor (TCR) repertoire. The number of TCR sequences selectively expanded in tumors varies within and between tumors and correlates with the number of nonsynonymous mutations. Expanded TCRs can be subdivided into TCRs found in all tumor regions (ubiquitous) and those present in a subset of regions (regional).

Law Technology Evolution: Can It Really Help You With The Best Legal Advice?
Legal advice websites have been around since the early ages of the internet. But the DIY legal options available today are relatively new by comparison. Before these sites became popular, handling legal situations required very specific steps. You may do some research online, but the end almost always resulted in working with a professional. Now, that line is blurred. If you are looking to create some legal documents, you may not have to work directly with an attorney.

Coffee and Technology: A Match Made in Heaven
There’s no denying that Americans love their coffee. Just count the number of Starbucks you drive by on your way to work, and you can see how that is true. But many of these fancy coffee drinks people buy are created with very basic machines. Sure, there are temperature controls and other standard features, but we can control the temperature of our homes from our smartphones when we are halfway around the world, so that really isn’t a feat.

As reported by PageSix, Banks, a 25-year-old rapper, jumped onto Facebook to express her glee about the victory. During her post, Banks named Lady Gaga and Katy Perry specifically. Both Gaga and Perry openly campaigned for Clinton in the months leading up to the 2016 election.

Meghan Markle Takes Britishness Test And Struggles
Rumours suggest, as reported by the Daily Mail, that Prince Harry may have fallen for American actress, Meghan Markle. In fact, the relationship appears so serious that speculators believe an engagement might even be on the horizon. While the idea that the two may end up together isn’t necessarily a shock, a recent quiz suggests that Markle may need to spend more time learning about British culture if she is to become a member of the royal family.
Adele Speaks Her Mind in Vanity Fair Interview
While many people know Adele’s songs, those ideas are only a snapshot of who she is. The notably foul-mouthed Brit has released three albums, 19, 21, and 25, each named after the age she was while developing the content. Adele isn’t known as one to hide her feelings in her lyrics, often painting an intimate portrait of her life at a specific moment in time. And, in a recent Vanity Fair interview, she shows the same resolve and doesn’t hold back when it comes to expressing herself.
