ROTHBURY, MI — Totems — tall, decorated poles or signs that festivalgoers carry — are seemingly everywhere at Electric Forest. It is a way festivalgoers can express themselves and a perfect way to spot their friends in a sea of people at the annual Oceana County event. Totems, decorative objects attached to poles, have been popular at festivals for years, but many have banned the creative pieces because they can block the audience’s view of the stage.
