Visitors staying in Cardiff could be charged an extra £1.30 a night under the planned new levy NEARLY two thirds of residents who took part in a survey supported the introduction of a visitor levy on tourists coming to the capital. The online survey of 1,908 people was part of Cardiff Council’s 12-week public consultation on whether to charge visitors staying in Cardiff £1.30 per person per night.

Affordable homes will bring new life to the area though questions remain over football facilities NEARLY 200 affordable homes could be coming to Grangetown as the next stage of Channel View’s regeneration takes a step forward. Cardiff Council’s planning committee has granted permission for 228 new homes on the site that runs along the edge of the southern part of the Marl along Channel View Road to the banks of the Taff, 189 of which will be affordable homes for council tenants.

Amy Rees, 38, from Nantymoel, Bridgend, pleaded guilty last month to defrauding 12 fans hoping to join the 67,000 sell-out crowd at the singer’s Eras Tour show in June 2023.
