BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - The haziness and poor air quality finally comes to an end this weekend as rain showers help wash away the smoke. Thunderstorms accompany the rain showers on Saturday. This is followed by drier and more comfortable conditions on Sunday and Monday. Another round of thunderstorms returns on Tuesday. The smoke from the Canadian wildfires reached North Central West Virginia (NCWV) earlier today. This led to very unhealthy air quality, especially up north near Morgantown.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Staying mainly dry with hazy skies through the end of the week as Canadian wildfire smoke continues to flow towards North Central West Virginia (NCWV). The smoke helps suppress rain showers for a little while, but you will want the umbrella again this weekend as the smoke leaves. Severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday through Sunday morning, and then we start the next workweek dry.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - A little humidity on Sunday is allowing more rain showers to pop up in parts of North Central West Virginia (NCWV), mainly south of US-50. The rain eventually moves further south on Monday, leading to more sunshine and warmth for this workweek. The radar is still picking up a few showers with very limited thunderstorms near Elkins and Weston. The rain is moving in retrograde (westward rather than eastward) and should be out of our recorded area as late as Monday afternoon.
