Asda has improved its existing family-friendly policies and added new support for all 140,000 colleagues, offering additional support during significant life moments such as parenthood, caregiving and personal loss. The new benefits are a “significant enhancement” to the retailer’s previous offer, doubling paternity leave and extending existing pregnancy loss support beyond the normal statutory leave and pay. It is also introducing a new carers package and enhancing maternity and adoption leave.

The strengthened commitment to employee wellness is an evolution of Tesco’s existing wellbeing programme, which has been in place since January 2019.
