What’s the Difference Between Continuous-Time and Discrete-Time Sigma-Delta ADCs?
Sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) can effortlessly achieve an effective number of bits (ENOB) of 24 bits or higher, making them exceptionally suitable for the precision measurement of micro-signals. These converters are widely utilized in applications such as electronic scales, pressure gauges, industrial temperature sensors (e.g., resistance temperature detectors/thermocouples), high-fidelity audio recording and playback, and physiological signal monitoring (e.g., ECG, EEG).

The other doctor
If I had been a doctor, I would have lived my life as a poker and a prodder, the kind of person who remains awake in the world and observes the outcomes of things. Instead, I write these words in the back room of my parents’ house, underneath the stairs where the dust gathers so deep that I can scoop it by the handful and spread it upon my skin, gleaming in the light of the half-open window.

Verushka by Jan Stinchcomb
In the lush and dangerous world of Jan Stinchcomb’s immersive novel Verushka, tea can turn to blood in your mouth, bears are fierce protectors of children, and maidens accidentally promise themselves to wood sprites. It’s also a world where new mothers fear the loss of their careers, teenage girls agonize over sleepover faux pas, and fathers grapple with long commutes into the city.
Dioramas by Blair Austin
In a second-season episode of the American sitcom Community (2009-2015), the study group that the show focuses on is making a diorama. “I can’t believe this is our twentieth and final anthropology diorama of the year,” says one character. “I can’t believe our assignment is making a diorama of us making our nineteenth diorama,” responds another. There’s something about the diorama—minuscule, artificial, toylike, and recursive—that invites ridicule.
the dead have nothing to say to you
dear you’re dead. i saw it happen, the click-clack of the hammer as you cocked it back, the fat tears rolling down your cheeks like pearls fresh from the oyster. it looks so real sometimes. i jumped when i saw you that morning, pale and tired and violet-dark eyes, but breathing. in and out. it happened to my grandmother too: i dreamt of wood cracking and limbs flailing and woke to the sound of my mother screaming into our bathroom floor. today you smiled at me. and i knew it was over.
Those Who Smuggle Themselves Into Slivermoon
In his early days in slivermoon, Saki worked the phone lines. Companies in slivermoon stressed in prestige magazines and press releases that it was too hard for them to employ bodies. Bodies were expensive to sustain. Bodies needed food, warmth, and shelter. The market was not what it used to be, and labor laws tied the hands of employers. Having a body in this economy was like throwing a fight before it even began. Bodies were a ticket to starvation.
Jonathan Abernathy You Are Kind by Molly McGhee
When this novel begins, Jonathan Abernathy is in purgatory—an empty office, a waiting room “located in a strip mall just outside the highway”—and he is desperate. Jonathan Abernathy has defaulted on his debt: “His loans, IOUs, and bills so diverse ecologists would be within their jurisdiction to classify the collection as ‘an ecosystem.’” Death, figuratively speaking, is in attendance.
Cat amongst the cabbages
Time passes slow in the distance as liquid lopes across the surface of the plains. Your mother is dead, her long hair thins under the dirt. She holds a special love for the cat, its silken fur, lean claws and crooked smile held hard within her sagging breast. It stalks toward you, bares the hated face, the long body and thin tail strike the air as it turns, a blow that bends the wind.

Understanding True Time Delay for Phased Arrays
by James Cheng, Senior Product Line Manager, Qorvo Phased array antennas use phase shifters, true time delay, or a combination to point the summed beam more accurately toward the desired direction within an array’s steered angle. This article reviews both methods and how wider bandwidth antenna arrays are driving the use of true time delay in their system design. Phased arrays change the shape and direction of the radiation pattern without physically moving the antenna.

Examining the criterion validity of two scalable, information technology-based systems designed to measure the quantity and quality of movement behaviours of children from Hong Kong primary schools: a cross-sectional validation study
Discussion While the application of information technology to assist teaching in contemporary education has risen, less research and development had been placed on physical education specifically. As such, we developed a series of tools that could be applied to physical education classrooms and beyond to measure the quantity (ie, MVPA) and quality (ie, FMS) of children’s PA.
