Programmable mRNA vaccine materials for temporal control of antitumour immunity
Abstract Advances in mRNA and nanomaterial design have transformed vaccine technology, enabling precise control of antigen expression, delivery kinetics and immune activation. However, several leading clinical-stage mRNA cancer vaccine programmes are being evaluated in the adjuvant setting, in which loss of the primary tumour antigen reservoir and evolving postoperative immune states may alter the conditions for effective priming.
Fatty acids in the tumor microenvironment reprogram neutrophils to induce adenosine-mediated immunosuppression in mice
|
Abstract As solid tumors progress, the tumor microenvironment becomes increasingly immunosuppressive, impairing cytotoxic T-cell activity and limiting the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade. However, the mechanistic drivers of this immunosuppression remain poorly understood. Here, we identify a tumor-derived lipid–neutrophil–adenosine axis as a critical regulator of immune suppression in advanced colorectal cancer (CRC).

Oral nano-delivery of a gut microbial metabolite enhances T cell stemness for cancer immunotherapy
|
Abstract Gut microbial metabolites play crucial roles in regulating systemic immunity, but their mechanisms and limited drug-like properties remain unresolved. Here we report an oral nano-formulation that leverages gut microbial metabolites to modulate T cell metabolism and amplify antitumour immunity.

ICE reporting stirred mixed emotions To the editor — The Dec. 27 front-page article about the volunteers countering the ICE agents in Yakima who arrested three persons at two locations on Christmas Eve was uplifting and upsetting to me. It was uplifting to learn citizens were publicly standing up against the tactics that are becoming all too common under this administration.
