A tree blew over on a street sign and power line at South East Street and Whittingham Street in Bellevue on Friday, June 16. Update, 9 p.m. Tuesday: Power has been restored to the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility, bringing an end to the discharge of untreated sewage into the Missouri River. Recreational users of the Missouri River no longer face the risk of contact with untreated sewage from the plant.

No injuries, no residents displaced in NW Omaha apartment complex fire

No injuries were reported and no residents were displaced by an apartment complex fire early Tuesday in northwest Omaha.Omaha firefighters said the blaze just southwest of North 108th Street and Old Maple Road was called in around 1:10 a.m. Fire officials said firefighters reported flames on second- and third-floor decks as they approached the scene. The fire was declared under control within about 10 minutes, and firefighters said the fire did not spread inside the three-story building.

Motorcyclist, bicyclist critically injured in separate crashes in northwest Omaha

Two people on bikes — a motorcycle and a bicycle — were critically injured overnight in separate crashes in northwest Omaha. Douglas County 911 dispatchers said the first crash, which involved a single motorcycle, occurred around 11:50 p.m. Thursday at Interstate 680 and Fort Street.The second crash happened at North 93rd and Maple Streets around 2 a.m. Friday.
