Medical setback can't keep Villager out of the pool
Gloria Galbreath lost sight in her left eye five years ago and thought it wise to give up swimming. “I thought the chlorine and the chemicals might affect my eye,” said Galbreath, of the Village Santo Domingo. “But then I went to my doctor, and he said, ‘Your eye is completely gone. You’ll never see out of it again’. That’s when I figured the chlorine wasn’t going to hurt it anymore. “I’m so glad to be back (swimming). I love it,” Galbreath continued.

But that kind of validates it.
Nurse exec rekindles her volleyball passion
Still active as a nursing executive, Traci Solt knew she had to be selective when she considered which sports to embrace as she settled in The Villages. Volleyball, absolutely. Tennis too. “I (also) play pickleball, yoga and beach tennis when I’m off,” said Solt, of the Village of St. Johns. “But this whole volleyball community, they just care about each other so much. It is humbling to be invited into this group.” Read this story and many others in Saturday's edition of the Daily Sun.

Villagers bring home the gold
Competing against the best masters swimmers in the U.S. and around the world can be nerve-racking. But Gail Grossman did not succumb to the pressure. 2023 Orlando Magic Player Evaluations: Markelle Fultz got his bounce back

Not with how it is trending toward shooting as such an important skill. The shoulder injury took away some of his dynamic shooting, but surely the torn ACL was going to knock him completely out.
