20 Years Ago Justin Kanouff hit a two-run home run to erase a two run deficit and David Gangewere pitched a three-hitter to allow Clearfield 11 and 12-year-old all stars to defeat visiting Tri-County 7-2, at McNamee Field Monday to reach the Northern Tier final. Kanouff’s blast came with Clearfield trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning with two outs. Ryan Hertlein led off the inning with a single but Tri-County pitcher J.D. Dorminy struck out the next two batters.

A few showers remain possible today across the southern half of the area as the cold front will be very slow to move to our south. Tomorrow looks like a much drier day as the front finally moves off to the south and a strong ridge develops over the middle of the country. Progressland Outlook Today: A slight chance of showers between 8 a.m and 2 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Lawrence Township Supervisors thank road crew for storm damage cleanup

CLEARFIELD —The Lawrence Township Board of Supervisors thanked the road crew for its work in cleaning up after recent storms at its meeting Tuesday night. “The last few nights we’ve had a lot of storm cleanup,” township Manager Ashley Pritchard said. “The road crew has been out unplugging pipes and cleaning up culverts and cleaning up trees.” She said the road crew has been going out in the middle of the night to get trees off the roads.
