EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville teenager convicted of murder is asking the Indiana Supreme Court to review his case. In May of 2023, Mateo Rodriguez was found guilty on multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter, felony murder, and robbery after police say he stole a car at a gas station and ran over 33-year-old Megan Schaefer. He was sentenced to 55 years in prison. Rodriguez’s defense appealed that decision a month later. Both the verdict and sentence were upheld.
