Have you ever used a typewriter?
No, but I do think it would be fun to try out.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Clark Kent. It's awesome to think that someone as amazing as Superman would want to work in this profession.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist means to seek truth, hold the powerful accountable and to tell amazing stories.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did! It was called Spilled Ink and I was the editor of the sports section. It was a lot of fun!
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The story I am most proud of is my profile of current Buffalo Sabre Josh Doan just weeks after he turned pro.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be flexible, don't be afraid to start in a small market and be ready to be confronted by some very hard situations.
What's your favorite drink?
An Arnold Palmer. I don't discriminate, just mix some tea with lemonade and I'm happy.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
With my wife and kids, cleaning my pool or watching some form of sports on TV.
