To the Editor, Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a heterogeneous group of clonal hematopoietic stem cell malignancies characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis, cytopenia, and abnormal cellular maturation, with increased risks of symptomatic anemia, infections, bleeding, and progression to acute myeloid leukemia (AML) [1]. MDS risk rises with age, chemotherapy, and radiation exposure.
